We’ve arrived at Collarenebri now and it’s a chance to catch our breath after what happened at Walgett.  It was all very intense.   It’s hard to believe that we were actually forced off the road outside of Walgett.  A truck hit us three times to get us off the road.  No-one was hurt but we’re all shaken up. Before that we were protesting outside the R.S.L. and we had rotten vegetables hurled at us. Rotten vegetables! Where did they even got them from beats me. Anyway, Collarenebri is between Walgett and Moree and I’m sure we’ll get a great welcome in Moree lol.

Tonight we are going to sleep in the park.  It’s not legal but what the heck!   It’s warm so we can sleep in the open.  We’ll get up early to get to Moree.  It was good to have time tonight talking about what we are doing and what we think will happen.  I loved what Charlie Perkins said; it was something about this being the beginning of a flood of new relationships; a new era in looking at ourselves as Aboriginal people.  Great stuff!  It makes me feel that fighting for justice is the right thing to do. It is my duty. Just a little while ago I was at uni protesting about the American treatment of black people and the Freedom Rides over there, when it’s just as bad here.  At least I’m doing something about it – I hope!

Darcy Cassidy is having a hard time getting his boss (the ABC) to report on what is happening.  There’s discrimination against aborigines even in trying to get the message out.  Thank goodness for the web so we don’t have to rely on the press to spread the news about what is going on.  I want everyone reading this to get to Moree ASAP to help us there.  We are going to protest outside the swimming pool.  They won’t let black people in there! Can you believe it?  That’s segregation in this country!

People, get out there and help!!!
